She graduated from Istanbul University Veterinary Faculty in 1987. She completed her doctorate in 1993. In 2003, she got the title Assoc.Prof. In 1992, she started to work as a researcher at TUBITAK Marmara Research Center, Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Institute. She received a UNIDO scholarship and worked on embryonic stem cell technology in 1994 at the Stockholm Karalinska Institute and in 1995 at the French Institute of Cell Sciences in Lyon. She produced the first transgenic mice carrying the human growth hormone gene in 1992 and carrying the hepatitis B virus genes in 1998 in Turkey. She took a World Bank Scholarship and worked on cloning of pigs and cattle in the United States, Georgia University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Animal Sciences for 2 years between 2000-2002. In 2002, she returned to her duty at TUBITAK,MAM and started a project on Cloning of Cattle. In 2004, she established the “Animal Biotechnology Research Group” at TUBITAK-MAM-Gen Engineering and Biotechnology Institute and undertook the coordination of the group. In the same year, she was promoted to Chief Scientific Researcher. She was assigned as TUBITAK, Vision 2023 Project, Biotechnology and Gen Technologies Strategy Group, Livestock Subgroup Reporter in 2004 and, as Turkish Academi of Science  Turkey (TUBA) Molecular Life Sciences and Technology Foresight Project Executive Board Member in 2007. In 2007, with the participation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and 10 universities, she started a 54-month public project with 106 project staff, and completed the first "National Domestic Animal Gen Banks", one in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the other in TUBITAK, MAM.  In 2009, she produced "Turkey's first clone cattle". She worked as a committee member in the National Committee on Animal Genetic Resources Conservation established by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock between 2006-2013. Between 2007 and 2012, she served as the country representative of the European Global Animal Health Technology Platform on behalf of TUBITAK. Between 2006 and 2012, she was a member of the Institute Board at TUBITAK -MAM-Gen Engineering and Biotechnology Institute. Between 2009 and 2012, she served as TUBITAK -MAM, Deputy Director of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Institute and TUBITAK, Head of Experimental Animals Local Ethics Committee. As of January 2012, she was appointed as the Head of the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology at Namık Kemal University, Faculty of Agriculture, and is still ongoing. She has over 100 international scientific publications and papers and over 500 citations in her field. She has received four “Achievement Awards” from TUBITAK for his scientific studies and “Science Encouragement Award” in 2013 and 2014 for her studies at the University. She was appointed as the Vice Dean in 2019.
